A poem by Emma Burlingame

When I was arrested, thanks to my old boss and his whacked sister (stay tuned for some of their better email messages), there was a very frightened little girl trying to make sense of it all back at home. in short, this is what she came up with.

By Emma Burlingame

Everybody knows we must
respect our police.
Because most of them
are healthy, nice, and neat.

But sometimes
they can be very, very wrong.

Even though people
think they are always right and strong.

Mean people think it is
a very funny joke
to have their enemies arrested
when they are as innocent
as egg yolks.

Thanks Emma. --Rick

PS - there is a wonderful drawing that I'll put up here when I get a minute to make it digital.
